Anyway, experimenting with mostly portraying a character through the use of shadows rather than linework. It's a Donkey-monster thing... or something. I dunno. :/
I was working on this for the majority of the time while we were screening Night on Bald Mountain (from Fantasia) during our animation class, and I realized how much he DOES look like one of those dancing demon creatures there.
Now your inking skills are reaching Level Ownage! This is gorgeous and it works so well with your skinny figure theme. I like those scratchy patterns distorting the moon in the background.
I LOVE THAT VIDEOOOO!!!!! That being said, I love your picture as well. I can see the inspiration, only this has that whole "high contrast" thing going, which looks great here
(On another note...I guess this is the place to mention that my dinosaur picture was actually drawn during the "Rite of Spring" segment being shown in class? XD)

That's wicked. I've done things like this before. Though, to really push the effect, you need more dark shapes that intersect the character (in the bg), which help those white elements to have as much power. Get it to all balance out, you know.
