First off, I wanted to do a strip that touched on what Reynard and Edgar actually were. Most people thought they were foxes (and for those of you who did think that, I'm not chewing you out) and I can sort of see where one could think that. Still, to me they did not look like foxes (especially in the face) and I didn't really want them to be foxes because everyone pretty much does foxes.
Still, this stupid cartoon was a pain in my side for a while. I gave this to my Dad (I have him look over all of my stuff before putting it up here) and he gave me the dreaded response "I don't get it." So we went back and forth for SEVERAL DAYS trying to figure out what to change the last lines to. There was also debate on whether it was "too dark" or not.
Finally I came up with the last lines (and it's PAINFULLY OBVIOUS that I changed them and scanned them in after the cartoon had been inked in and such).
It's still not the best thing I've done. I'm sorry.
The one thing I do really like is the color scheme. If you notice (with the exception of black and white first panel) all throughout the color scheme is just blue/teal, brown, and orange. I like it.
great job! I don't know how people think they are foxes, they don't look like foxes to me. when i first saw ur gallery i figured they were coyotes. but great comic i love ur work
Yeh I thought they were foxes until you're journal the other day. I think I just saw the name Reynard and leapt to that assumption. But now you mention it you can tell by the blunt snout alone that they are not foxes, cos them foxes gots pointy hooters.

I know how you feel. My dad looks through my stuff before I scan it too .

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
The Cutting Edge is a weekly article that features brand new selected high quality art products that caught our eyes. Check out the cutting edge prints some of your fellow artists have submitted in the past week!
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. Well... it's the red fur. When a lot of people see red fur, they think of foxes.
You were REALLY close though.

That's one of the reasons I couldn't stand to call them "foxes". Foxes have extremely pointy snouts that are usually white.
